The Certification Board for Music Therapists is a member of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence and is fully accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. Anyone labeling themselves as and/or practicing as a Music Therapist must have the credential of MT-BC (music therapist-board certified) and must recertify every 5 years with 100 continuing education units. A professional organization for Music Therapists practicing in North Carolina, the MTANC exists to support the advancement of music therapy across the state. This organization also provides a therapist locator tab for NC.
